Healthy and tasty food

In November 2013 the pupils from Szkoła Podstawowa nr 2 w Leżajsku (Leżajsk Primary School No. 2) worked out three recipes for dishes typical of the traditional Polish cuisine, which they found both healthy and tasty, and sent them in English versions to the partner schools to be tried out.

In January 2014, on the other hand, the Leżajsk school community tried out some recipes received from other countries. Three dishes were made on the basis of the directions from France, and one having followed a recipe from Greece. The “public tasting” of the food was held during the school carnival ball (a special Comenius event destined for children, parents and teachers made up part of it).

While carrying out the task the pupils got to know some aspects of different nations’ culinary traditions, adopted proper nourishing habits, as well as improved their language and ICT abilities.

The recipes for the traditional Polish dishes (thought to be healthy and tasty) which were sent to the partner schools one can find on a bilingual website made by the pupils from Leżajsk - http://www.zdrowe_smaczne_potrawy.republika.pl/.

Here are some photos on how the pupils from Kifissia tried out one of the recipes worked out by the pupils from Leżajsk (baked apples with walnuts and honey):
